A champion does not need to be hero.

Just read the story about Om Puri's controversy, not even willing to write regarding what. All his fans must be regretting to find him in such a situation. But publisher got his publicity and media got his masala.

It's easy to criticize, condemn and complain and most of us do. Why not appreciate good things first. I confess, in my graduation days I ain't had proud of Mahatma Gandhi with my little and more importantly an incomplete information. I still don't have the complete knowledge but I must say he had his strengths which are extraordinary and great enough for me to have lessons. So why not build up on that rather than criticizing anyone and end up with nothing but bad words and red eyes. To learn its must we appreciate first, then self criticism and if require then criticism. Critics always help to build but if taken healthily only.

A short story I remember from one of my favourite book, the song of the bird from Fr. Anthony De Mello, called, the coconut.

A monkey on a tree hurled a coconut at the head of a sufi.
The man picked it up, drank the milk, ate the cream and made a bowl from the shell.

Thank you for your criticism of me.

More importantly I don't know why people mix two words always, champion and hero. I don't believe a champion need to be a hero. Champions are best at something, and heroes are best himself.

One more thing which struck me in that controversial story of Mr. Puri was the pace of communication technology. Its damn fast and vast to take over our understanding. What I tweet from my understanding of my surrounding could be perceive very different from someone whose understandings and surroundings are different from mine. Today my words have responsibility of world wide web! To hurt one or two could be taken care of but to .com could be heavier than we can think of or vice versa. Mr. Puri couldn't have thought that today a comment by us not just reach world wide but even to our drawing rooms rather than parent's bed room!

Are we ready for consequences of technology in our society's structure? I remember my English school teacher, Ms. Gosh' favourite one liner, "every coin has two sides."
